Overview

  • Zhangjiajie, located in the northwest of Hunan Province, lies between the highlands of Yunnan and Guizhou. It is home to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the Shili Scenery, and the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Zhangjiajie is likened to a celestial realm with over 3,000 stone columns and cliffs, some towering over 300 meters. It inspired the visuals for the famous 3D movie “Avatar.”
  • Fenghuang is an ancient town in the Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in western Hunan Province, about 53 km from Jishou (Qianzhou) and around 280 km from Zhangjiajie. It serves as the economic, political, and social center of the region. Located beside the Tuojiang River, the ancient town preserves many ancient walls, streets, traditional houses, temples, and pagodas. With a history of 1,300 years, Fenghuang is a living museum of ethnic culture.
  • Furong Town is an ancient town with a history of over 2,000 years, known as the “Hanging Town on the Waterfall.”
