Overview
Mekong Delta (also known as the Southern Delta, the Southwest Region, the Mekong Delta or the Western Region) is the southernmost region of Vietnam, one of two parts of the Southern region. It is made up of 13 provinces: Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau. Mekong Delta is not only the biggest rice basket but also the biggest fruit garden in Viet Nam. Most people here are either fishermen or farmers and sometimes both. Apart from luscious paddy fields, the area is popular for its beautiful fruit orchards, stunning gardens, and floating markets. The entire Mekong is connected through canals and small rivulets which make it an interesting place. The visitors, taking the entire day, can explore the stunning landscapes and beautiful landmarks on the Mekong River.
Cu Chi is a great destination located 70 km from the Ho Chi Minh City Center to the Northwest. Cu Chi Tunnel was known as the “area of steel” in wartime, and the tunnel systems were over 200km, which was considered the unbreakable underground village in the Vietnam-American war. It is legendary for its network of tunnels and is a popular destination for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors
